SASHIKA COREA-MAHIMAN was educated at CMS Ladies’ College, Colombo and gained entrance to the Arts Faculty of the University of Kelaniya wherein she topped her batch in consecutive semesters, before switching over to the Field of Psychology whilst completing a Diploma in Journalism, an AMI DIPLOMA and Advanced Diplomas in Child Psychology and Counselling Psychology at the American College of Higher Education which paved the way for a career as a Counsellor for Children.

Sashika possesses a Master's Degree (M.Sc) in Applied Psychology from Coventry University (U.K.), and has completed a specialized course of study in the field of Clinical and Abnormal Psychology at the Colombo Institute of Research and Psychology.

She taught English at Bishop’s College, Colombo and Stafford International School, Colombo and functioned as the Student Counsellor for children in both schools before leaving Stafford International in view of her marriage to Mahiman Sivasundaram in 2011 whilst being successful in obtaining an International Vocational Qualification in Training Skills from City & Guilds in the same year.

The grand-daughter of Sid and Amybelle Corea, Sashika Corea Mahiman is the only daughter of Vijaya and Ranjini Corea and the sister of Viran Corea. She and her husband Mahiman have a son, Ravale.
