VERNON COREA (JNR) is the second son of Vernon and Monica Corea and was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He attended S. Thomas’ Preparatory School in Kollupitiya, Sri Lanka and the prestigious Royal College in Colombo, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.
Vernon (Jnr) and the family moved to the United Kingdom in 1975, where he attended Selhurst Boys School in Croydon, and later attended Carshalton Technical College. He became a Senior Operations Manager in a British construction company. He married Fidelma Hegarty from Donegal, Ireland. They have three children, Rohan, Mark and Emily.
Vernon Corea (Jnr) co-founded the Riverside Park Cricket Club in Richmond in 1984, where he remained secretary for ten years. He is very involved in the Church and the primary school where his children attended. He is a foundation governor in Sacred Heart Primary School and is a Health and Safety Advisor to the Sacred Heart Parish, in Wimbledon.
