Obituary: Devapriya Welikala - 31/10/2017 |

The death occurred in London on 31/10/2017, of D.L.O. (Devapriya) Welikala, who resided there for a long period until his demise. His maternal grandmother was Milita Corea (daughter of Mudaliyar J.E. Corea of 'Wasala Walauwa') who married Fredy Wickremeratne.
'Priya' as he was fondly known, was a distinguished old boy of Richmond College, Galle and a Banker who worked as the Manager, Bank of Ceylon, London for many years.
He was the beloved husband of Nandani and the father of Terry, Ossie and Eddie. He was the son of late Rev. E.O.P. Welikala and Mildred Welikala (Nee Wickremeratne) and brother of late Eksath (Planter) Lakshman (Irrigation Dept - Mobile: 0779959078), Srilal (Planter - Mobile: 0778036025) replica orologi di lusso and late Sunil (Planter).
The funeral is to take place in London. The ashes may be brought to Sri Lanka, details of which would be made known in due course. |
