Ivan Corea, the elder son of Vernon (Snr) and Monica Corea has been honoured by a Civic Award by the Mayor of Havering, Councillor Brian Eagling considering his contribution to the cause of autism awareness in the community and across the United Kingdom.
He was one of 20 residents picked for the honour, on the basis of outstanding services to the costume cosplay community.
Ivan's contribution was summarised, in the following words: "Ivan Corea has for many years spent his time promoting awareness of Autism across the country and in Havering. During his time as a teacher at Frances Bardsley school, he has been instrumental in organising the Autism Sunday service every year to celebrate Autism within Havering, and he has also organised and arranged the introduction of the Frances Bardsley autism ambassadors in conjunction with RIEES." The recognition came, as Ivan and his wife Charika were preparing to move to California in the United States, along with their son, Charin for the next chapter in their life as a family.
