With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of
Mrs. Gwen Herat (née Ayesha Weerackoon),
Founding President – Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket,
Former Provincial Councillor – North Western Province,
Beloved wife of the late Hon. Harold Herat, former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Loving mother of Shamara, Avancka, and Parveen,
Mother-in-law of Nishani,
Cherished grandmother of Zak and Mihneli,
Daughter of the late Ranee and Wansapala Weerackoon,
Sister of the late Elmo, Ricky, and Manel.
Remains lie at A.F. Raymond’s Funeral Parlour, Borella, from 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 27th May 2025.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 28th May at 2:30 p.m., followed by burial at Borella Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
